Trim 10 Mile 2018 (4th Feb)

Mullingar athletes in fine form at Trim 10 Mile

The fourth edition of the Trim 10 Mile Road Race on Sunday morning 4th February drew a terrific entry of over 1,300. Weather conditions were dry, calm and cold, which was absolutely perfect for a 10 mile race. Mullingar was represented by 25 athletes, and as many are planning to run the Mullingar Half Marathon on St. Patrick’s Day, they could use the Trim 10 mile as a test of how their training is progressing. First to finish from Mullingar was Kevin Baker in 2nd place (53:03) and with great support from Eddie Newman (57:30) 1st in his master age category and Gerry Gavin (59:52), the Mullingar men finished 3rd team. Following them in is was Enda O’Carolan (61:40), Alan Crowley (63:33), Joan Flynn (63:50) 5th senior woman, Kieran Nolan (63:55), Liam McGlynn (64:32), Nollaig McEntegart (64:36) easily winning his master age category by a distance, Enda Seery (67:51), Paul Ginnell (68:42), Sean Liston (68:56), Robin Jackson (69:02), Ollie Gaffney (71:56), Michael O’Sullivan (73:04) 3rd in his master age category, Gillian Walsh (74:00), Michelle O’Halloran (75:17), Jane Creevy (77:16), Declan Costello (78:55), Criona Reid (79:25), Jude Whelehan (79:25), Emer O’Hanlon (79:28), Terri Greene (79:49), Joanna Tyrrell (80:09) and Tommy Archbold (74:56). A team prize and four individual prizes was a good result for the Club. Well done to them all.
