Telford 10k 2024 (15 Dec)

Jack O’Leary, Jamie Battle and Vinny Connolly were in Telford, near Birmingham on Sunday 15th December to compete in the Telford 10k, which is statistically proven as the fastest 10k course in Britain. The race take place on a generally flat 2 lap traffic free well sheltered tarmac course using Telford Town Park and the Silkin Way. The course is quite narrow, not unlike our own Old Rail Trail, so with over 1,400 competitors entered, they were divided into three “waves” based on previous best times, so no surprise that the Mullingar Harriers trio were assigned to the fastest wave 1. Given the high quality of the opposition and the tight narrow course, there was little room to manoeuvre but the Mullingar men battled well and were led home by Jack finishing well up in 29:48, followed closely by Jamie in 29:59 and Vinny a little further back in 30:42.
