Jingle Bells 5k 2023 (2nd Dec)

Claire Fagan was delighted to swop the mud of Gowran for the roads of the Phoenix Park on Saturday morning 2nd December when she toed the line with a huge entry of 1,265 for the 32nd edition of the annual Donore Harriers AC “Jingle Bells” 5k. Clearly relishing the firm footing of the road and putting the experience of Gowran firmly behind her, Claire really showed her class and with a scintillating run she finished in a very impressive 15 minutes 57 seconds to place 2nd woman by just one second in a very close contest.

Also taking advantage of the course in one of Ireland’s fastest 5k races, Vinny Connolly placed an excellent 7th in 14 minutes 34 seconds in a quality field, ahead of Kevin Moore (11th) in 14:56, Ann Hall (19:12) and Breda Daly (20:12) placing a very creditable 5th in her master category.
