Irish Universities Cross Country 2019 (2nd March)

The competitors at the Irish Universities Cross Country at St. Mary’s College in Galway on Saturday morning 2nd March had to endure very harsh cold, wet and windy conditions guaranteed to test the mettle of them all.

Competing for DCU, Claire Fagan put in a great performance to finish very strongly in sixth, the fourth scorer for the DCU team, just mere seconds away from the bronze medal, and with Linda Conroy right on her heels in seventh competing “one year down” for DCU as she graduated last year, and Susan Glennon also playing her part, the DCU women finished 1st team by a big margin. In the men’s race Jamie Battle (DCU) put in a great shift to finish in fifth place, the third score for the DCU team, and with great support from Oisin Quinn (DCU), the result was an equally emphatic victory for the DCU men team.
