Colaiste Mhuire to compete at World Schools XC 2022 (16th Mar)

Ross Killalea will lead the Colaiste Mhuire Intermediate Team that will represent Ireland at the World Schools Cross Country Championships to be held in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia from 22nd to 27th April. On the team of nine with Ross will be five other members of Mullingar Harriers, namely Diarmuid Fagan, Conor Liston, Pablo Lozano, Tadhg Sheridan and Conor Sherwin.

They qualified for these prestigious Championships after winning the Intermediate Boys team title at the All-Ireland Schools Cross Country in Belfast in March. They will spend a week in Slovakia and in addition to the Championship race on Sunday 24th April, various other events have been organised, including a cultural day, a nations night and a friendship 4×1,500m relay where four of them will be selected to run.

Teams entered for the event include squads from Afghanistan, Uganda, Mexico, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium, England, France and Spain, so it should prove an absolutely wonderful opportunity and experience for the Colaiste Mhuire team.
