Clontarf Half Marathon 2017 (25th Nov)

Despite being billed as the flattest half marathon in Ireland, the Clontarf Half Marathon in Dublin on Saturday morning 25th November was a real test of toughness and resolve because the weather was so bitterly cold and the runners had to contend with a difficult breeze, adding to the chill. That still didn’t deter over 1,500 taking part, among them Michael O’Sullivan who finished well up in 1:42:23, which was good enough to win his master category. Following in not far behind was Aidan Rafferty in 1:44:25. Conditions are reckoned to have added two or three minutes to everyone’s time, so Michael and Aidan were pleased with their times.
