British & Irish Masters International Cross Country 2017 (18th Nov)

Second place in her master category at the AAI Autumn Open cross country in October, which doubled as a trial for the Irish Masters team, earned Eileen Kenny a place on the Irish team at the British & Irish Masters International Cross Country in Gransha Park, Derry on Saturday 18th November. Ireland was competing against some of the best master athletes from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Eileen was delighted to be making her International debut and capped the day by finishing third score on the Irish team that won their age group race, giving Eileen a gold medal to remember her debut by. To really make the day special, Eileen’s daughter, Michelle Kenny (runs with Leevale AC in Cork) also took gold with the winning Irish team in her master category, so it was a really memorable day for the Kenny family. Congratulations from everyone at the Club to Eileen on her success and her name will now be added to the International Roll of Honour in the Clubhouse.
