AAI Indoor Games 2019 (2nd Feb)

The AAI Indoor Games were held at the National Indoor Arena in Abbotstown on Saturday 2nd February and Mullingar Harriers was well represented with five athletes in action.

Shane Fitzsimons and Colin Smith were in action in the 800m and both raced aggressively in what was their opening race of the season. Shane finished in third place in a time of 1:50.90, which is his second fastest time over 800m indoors. Colin was marginally outside his personal best and both can progress further throughout the indoor season.

Jamie Battle, Cormac Dalton and Timmy Murphy raced in the 3,000m which was surprisingly tactical in the early stages. As a result personal best times were not obtained but all three raced well in their first track race of the season. Jamie finished one place ahead of Cormac, both recording a time of 8:31, with Timmy just a few places behind.
